Questions that protect future equipment choices

The best equipment conversation is not only about what works today. It also considers progression, service, transportation, caregiver ability, insurance rules, and the consequences of getting the decision wrong.

Questions about the person

  • What daily activity is currently unsafe or impossible?
  • What has changed during the last six to twelve months?
  • What level of assistance is realistically available?
  • Are pain, fatigue, breathing, skin, posture, vision, memory, or judgment part of the problem?

Questions about the equipment

  • What measurements, trial, fitting, or professional evaluation should occur first?
  • Can the equipment adjust if needs change?
  • Will it work in every important room and during transportation?
  • Who services it, and how quickly can repairs be completed?

Questions about coverage

  • Is prior authorization or specific documentation required?
  • Does accepting this item affect same-or-similar coverage?
  • What replacement timeline applies?
  • Which accessories are covered, excluded, rented, or purchased?
